About these terms

These terms govern your use of The Print Trade, a private, invite-only platform for photographers to exchange collector-grade prints. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

Intellectual property & copyright

All photographs, images, and creative works uploaded to The Print Trade remain the sole and exclusive intellectual property of the original creator. The Print Trade claims no ownership, license to sublicense, or any other proprietary interest in your work. This applies under the copyright laws of your country of residence and any applicable international copyright treaties, including the Berne Convention.

By uploading content, you represent and warrant that you are the rightful owner or have obtained all necessary permissions to share that work on this platform.

Limited display license

By uploading images to The Print Trade, you grant the platform a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to display your work solely within the authenticated areas of the site for the purpose of facilitating print exchanges with other members. This license is:

  • Non-transferable — we cannot sublicense or transfer your work to any third party
  • Non-commercial — your work will never be used for advertising, promotion, or any revenue-generating purpose
  • Revocable — you may withdraw this license at any time by removing your images or deleting your account
  • Limited in scope — display is restricted to authenticated members of the platform only

Prohibited use of content

Members must not, under any circumstances:

  • Download, screenshot, copy, or otherwise reproduce another member's images for any purpose other than viewing them on the platform, except for sharing profile cards generated by the platform on social media to promote the community and its members
  • Reproduce, print, distribute, sell, or license another member's work
  • Use another member's images in any derivative works, AI training datasets, or machine learning models
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright notices, watermarks, or metadata embedded in uploaded images
  • Claim authorship or ownership of another member's work

Violation of these terms may result in immediate removal from the platform and may expose you to legal liability under applicable copyright law.

Print exchanges

Print exchanges arranged through the platform are agreements between individual members. When you receive a print through an exchange, you receive a physical print for personal display only. You do not receive any copyright, reproduction rights, or license to the underlying work. The photographer retains all rights to their image.

Copyright notice

All images displayed on The Print Trade are © their respective photographers. All rights reserved. No image on this platform may be reproduced, distributed, or used without the express written permission of the copyright holder.

DMCA & takedown requests

If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on this platform without authorization, or if you need any content removed, contact us immediately via Instagram DM at @fiftymillimeter_ or @my_eyes_are_red. We will respond promptly and remove infringing content in accordance with applicable law.

Platform responsibilities

The Print Trade takes reasonable measures to protect your work, including requiring authentication for access, blocking automated scraping and AI bots, and restricting content visibility to verified members. However, no digital platform can guarantee absolute protection against unauthorized use. We encourage members to upload appropriately sized images and apply their own watermarks if desired.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the member's country of residence. Your work is protected under the copyright laws of your jurisdiction and applicable international treaties, including the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works. In the event of a dispute, the applicable jurisdiction shall be determined by the member's country of residence.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
